Multi-Instance Environments

There are advantages from operating within a single instance environment, and many organizations are moving to this architecture. However there are many organizations that will continue to operate within a multiple instance environment for a variety of reasons:

  • Size
  • Acquisition and legacy systems
  • Regional control of operations
  • Concurrent job scheduling
  • System maintenance windows and downtime sensitivity

These organizations will continue to face problems with such environments, such as creating inter-company between entities on different instances, different instances at different versions, or even companies on different systems.

Although Virtual Trader is hosted by Oracle Financials, it is designed to be able to create multiple data streams to different instances and different systems simultaneously. The architecture of the target system is defined within the client layer of Virtual Trader, which allows the customer to write to their remote systems as seamlessly as the host Oracle application.
